Showing up late, hoping I'll see you there Flowers around my neck, pretending I'm fine Warm nights feeling cold when you're not around Wishing this coconut were your hand in mine I've limboed down to the floor, and lower even more Bent back so my frown looks like a smile I'm boogying hard, but my heart's not in the place You know dancing alone is not my style This party is dying There's nothing fun to do I guess I'll just go home Can't spell luau without u

I don’t wanna be on the mainland Don’t wannabe be so landlocked I can taste the waves, from my grave dug a thousand miles away from the dock I’m tired of having to be responsible being distant from the beach is a crime I’m clocking out for the rest of the week I’m putting in some island time I’m blocking out all of the sounds coming from my life I’m burying myself in the sand I’m shutting down anyone that is wanting me to work You don’t understand, don’t understand I’m gone, baby, gone My bags are packed I’m giving all my goodbyes Regaling tales of sailing to my friends But they know that they’re all lies I’m not going to leave the town Maybe pretend that I’m really there I’ll just make a drink or two or three and pass out in my recliner chair I’m blocking out all of the sounds coming from my life I’m burying myself in the sand I’m shutting down anyone that is wanting me to work You don’t understand, don’t understand I’m gone, baby, gone

Saw you working at the sunglass hut I think it was a quarter past three Even though you were wearing shades I can tell you were looking at me I remember our first date Thought my denim vest was neat So I wrote you this letter Inviting you to Meet me at the Dairy Queen Off the boardwalk at VA beach We can watch the people pass us by I feel so peachy keen When it’s you, my dilly bar, and me With you there’s no clouds in the sky When I see you there You blow my mind away I’m head over heels like a blizzard flipped upside down And after all these years Through the bright and grey You make me feel like Every day is a sundae Meet me at the Dairy Queen Off the boardwalk at VA beach We can watch the people pass us by I feel so peachy keen When it’s you, my dilly bar, and me With you there’s no clouds in the sky

Heatwave 02:05
Jump in the pool Turn on the A/C Ride out the heatwave The sun is beating down on the asphalt It’s so hot I can cook my eggs We need to stay in before we start to melt Into puddles Jump in the pool Turn on the A/C Ride out the heatwave I’ve sweated through three shirts since this morning This summer is starting to suck When the ice in my drink quickly starts to melt It’s clearly a problem Jump in the pool Turn on the A/C Ride out the heatwave Do you remember when We’d be outside with our friends Don’t know when that will happen again

I never thought I'd ever be in this dilemma Where I would leave all that I love behind For the first few months felt just like vacation But here I am stuck in a lost state of mind Coming back home but nothing's familiar Nothing was there that made me who I am today Without rose-tinted glasses, it's all just peculiar I guess they're right, nothing gold can stay and all I have are the pictures of my life back then and the memories I'll glamorize I'll look back on those times with a fond look and a drink in my hand, tears in my eyes

Shipwrecked 03:04
I'm trying to find my way back after being shipwrecked Don't know when I'm gonna be back home Don't know when I'll be back home You may see me at the bar with a drink in my hand I could be thinking what could have been, I may be on stage with my band But these days I'm nervous, stressin' bout surviving The weather outside is so scary, but goddammit I am thriving I'm trying to find my way back after being shipwrecked Don't know when I'm gonna be back home Don't know when I'll be back home It's been nearly 50 days, and I'm still lost I don't know my north to my south, I don't know what seas I have crossed but I think I'm happy, or I may be going a bit mad That my isolation isn't all that bad I'm trying to find my way back after being shipwrecked Don't know when I'm gonna be back home Don't know when I'll be back home Just wait 'til you see when I touch on home ground I know things will be different, I know things will have changed But the trip is taking so long and there's no end in sight Gonna hunker down and hold on tight Don't know when I'm gonna be back home Don't know when I'm gonna be back I'm trying to find my way back after being shipwrecked Don't know when I'm gonna be back home Don't know when I'll be back home

Sippin on mai tais, loving the sound of the ocean Feeling the sand between our toes We’re blastin Buffett, the crowd is groovin But it’s just you and I alone in Buffalo Waking up early to scrape the ice off our cars You and I burnt from our daily vocation I miss my shorts, you miss the sun, and we miss looking at the stars Prayin’ to Saint Marten to take us on a beach vacation You and me, let’s get away. We don’t need a place to stay. We just need to get out of this place The beach is where we could be in. Hangin’ in the Caribbean Feel the waves crashing into our sweet embrace Kissing you never felt so great as we’re on our tropical date Me and you lovin in the island weather I wish that we could stay here, maybe we could disappear Spend our whole lives chillin together You and me, let’s get away. We don’t need a place to stay. We just need to get out of this place The beach is where we could be in. Hangin’ in the Caribbean Feel the waves crashing into our sweet embrace

I’m having a party this Halloween and inviting all my spooky friends We’re gonna take it to the beach It’ll be a scary sight to be seen Bring your sandals and put your costume on The wolfman is bringing his guitar Mummy’s surfin and ghouls are grooving The party is lasting til the break of dawn Dunno when this’ll happen again Spending time with my graveyard friends It may be unusual, beaching with the paranormal Wish this party never ends Follow rules, if you’re able Garlic and silver are not allowed When zombies come, we’re havin fun Usin tombstones for a pong table Howls and cackles cut through the wolfman band the beach is masking the stench of death We’ve got some looks, but we don’t care It’s nothing that they can understand Dunno when this’ll happen again Spending time with my graveyard friends It may be unusual, beaching with the supernatural Wish this party never ends Bigfoot is rocking a speedo Frankenstein’s monster is making drinks The Mothman cometh and is making s’mores for members of Plastic Flamingos Trick or treaters please beware The party is frightfully fun This may not be for the faint of heart If you come, you’re in for a scare Dunno when this’ll happen again Spending time with my graveyard friends It may be unusual, beaching with the paranormal Wish this party never ends
